Web design using Flash
Flash is a method of producing animations with almost movie-like
smoothness and resolution. It's a "vector-based" method
of rendering images, enabling them to be both smoother than traditional
web graphics, and scalable to any size. These are high-impact graphics,
best seen with a broadband connection. To avoid Internet indigestion,
in most cases we use Flash as a garnish, not a full course.

Whimisical sites
• The Gillen Brewer School — tiny logo toddles on screen, like the preschoolers at this school: www.gillenbrewer.com
• Larry King Productions — band leader is toast of the town as pop song plays: www.larrykingmusicny.com

• Online Orientation to Grantseeking — an animated set of eye glasses moves about to form the title of
the site, whereupon you can click a link to enter. Compare Flash,
with the old-fashioned GIF
animation. The file size of the Flash animation is significantly
smaller, yet you can drag the corner of the browser window to any
size, with no loss of quality or resolution. The motion is also
smoother than the GIF animation.
