DLS Design: Logo Design Case Studies

Client: SLD Lighting

Background: A distributor of lighting for the architectural and theatrical markets, SLD was readying a major promotional effort, and needed a design for a logo and catalog.

Analysis: We visited SLD's showroom on several occasions and witnessed demonstrations of the lighting equipment, which was capable of producing large, vibrant effects.

Process: David had become interested in keystone shapes, and developed a stepped keystone that was suggestive of both a lighting sconce and a theatrical marquee. Out of five designs shown, the client chose this one because it made reference to both his markets.

Outcome: The logo has been used in all stationery, packaging, catalog and interactive applications.
