Case
Histories
The following summaries are designed to show you how we gather
and analyze information on a client's needs, and the steps we take
to design a solution. The criteria we use are: Is it suitable? and
Is it striking?

DLS designed this lively logo for the June Stern Family Foundation, near Minneapolis/St.Paul. The nonprofit organization provides scholarships to teachers and grants to schools to assist children with dyslexia. Several versions - mainly images of books and children's hands - were shown before the client chose this cluster of interlinked letterforms with its energy and bright color.
We designed the logo in conjunction with the organization's web site at www.junesternfoundation.org |

This logo for the law firm of Sheldon
Lobel, PC, builds on the firm's practice areas:
real estate, land use and zoning. The stylized "L"
is meant to be seen as a building from above or do
you see three buildings and their shadows? Read
the case study.
The logo was designed in tandem with a newsletter, stationery
set, and a new web site for
the firm. Can we do the same for your firm?

DLS designed a web site, brochure and logo for Education
Without Boundaries, a student-run organization
building schools in war-torn Sierra Leone, Vietnam, Argentina and other distressed
countries.
Our design for the logo has three simple ideas: a globe without
boundary lines or other separating entities; children's silhouttes;
and the use of a star shape making up the childrens' bodies
a reminder of who is the most important part of the
project. Read the case study.
